FAQ

Do I need a doctor’s referral to make an appointment?

If you are a privately paying patient you do not need a referral. A referral is required if you are seeking help under the Workers Compensation system, Department of Veterans Affairs, enhanced primary care (Medicare) systems or 3rd party motor accidents system (CTP). You may qualify for physiotherapy with Medicare assistance under the enhanced primary care program. Your G.P. can assess you to determine if this is appropriate. More information is available at www.servicesaustralia.gov.au.

How long are appointments?

Initial consultations are between 40-60minutes long, with follow up appointments being from 20-30 minutes long. In this time we emphasise direct contact with the therapist. The overall time may vary depending on the complexity or nature of your problem, and possible use of exercise equipment.

How can I pay?

We accept cash, eftpos as well as MasterCard and Visa credit card payments. We have HICAPS which allows for direct claiming of rebates from most health funds. Please remember to bring your private health benefits card to your appointment. This will allow us to process your health fund rebate leaving only the gap to be paid at the time of consultation.

What do I need to Bring?

Your referral (if you have one), X-rays, scans and reports you may have relating to the injury.

Is Bulk Billing Available?

We are a mixed billing practice. Mixed billing means that we will privately charge patients an appointment fee of $80 that must be pain in full. We will submit a Medicare claim on the behalf of the patient and instantly thereafter Medicare will rebate the amount of $60.35 via bank transfer to the bank account registered with Medicare. Your out-of-pocket amount for an EPC session will therefore be $19.65 ($80.00 consultation fee - $60.35 Medicare rebate = $19.65).
